First Day at HighpoInt Furniture Market

The Spring Highpoint Furniture Market has come and gone. It was a busy one - parties and seeing old friends but the best part was the fabulous finds…..

There were some new trends that stood out. Here they are…..

Wesley Hall - sheep fur with colored legs

Linen covered tables with nailheads

I was looking for a tall mirror for the Designer House - this was perfect from Jonathan Charles. Of course we stopped by the pub for a cocktail!

I loved these art piece for the walls

Natural Curiosities  - butterfly and feathers

Pigeon and Poodle  - gorgeous trashcans and bath accessories

Visual Comfort had some beautiful things by Aerin Lauder - look at these sconces!

I love the Antique and Design Center - so many things to love.

I bought these 1970's gold cocktail glasses - martini, red and white wine. Gold was big big big.

Beautiful pillows with great details

Turquoise was big too. See it here at Julian Chichester.

Multiple layers of trim was all over.

I loved meeting Mary McDonald at Chaddock. The classic lines, painted floor, trims, and classic shapes!

Beautiful trim details and fabrics at Verellen.

Check out the casual slipcover from Verellen! Beautiful linen fabrics.

Always a treat for the eye at Texture Imports! See this beautiful wood form used as a votive color. We bought a few pieces to bring home as well.

Benches

I also stumbled across these beautiful Tilton Fenwick fabrics on armless chairs at Wesley Hall. Floral prints were big this season.

Spending time with the Design Tourist from the Design Network!
Karen Le Blanc

Bold Colors!

Gold and white from Baker

Tables from Barry Dixon and Tomlinson - love the verdi and artichoke shape.

Roberta Schillings dove sculpture - perfect for our Mexico project!

This was the only the first day - Whew... what finds!

                             Stay tuned for day 2!

Third time's a charm!

This was my third time at Kravet's Blogfest and I think this might have been the best one yet. It was shorter and smaller but jammed packed with celebrity designers and super sponsors like HGTV, Newell Antiques, Valspar, and more. I loved seeing old design friends there as well.

Check out the Hearst Tower lunch table decorations - pink and green with sporty HGTV bags.

Our guest panel of designers doing a game show of design questions. Thom Filicia and Alexa Hampton are hilarious!

Thom gave a great talk on his new book, American Beauty. It is all about this lake home in New York - a complete renovation of a dilapidated home he brought back to live. Very casual and simplified. Funny stories about squirrels invading his home.

I always enjoy the Kravet Studio tour and this one was special. I loved seeing the Brunschwig & Fils line come back alive.

Love this modern print!

The star of the week was Aerin Lauder with her new collection inspired by her grandmother, Estee Lauder, the cosmetic giant. Lots of florals and soft colors.

I always love a peak at the new Kelly Wearstler things. Love that wallpaper!

HGTV's Sarah Richardson even has a new line for Kravet. A soft coastal inspired look.

A special treat was the cocktail party at Newell Antiques - 5 floors of furniture of all different styles and ages. Gorgeous things! Tons of celebrity guests as well - Suzanne Kasler, Jonathan Adler, and Alexa Hampton, who sat down with a few of us to tells us some tricks of the trade. Thanks Alexa!

Gorgeous antiques ....

I met Scott Kravet shopping within the packed aisles of Newell. We even led him toward some purchases.

It was a fun filled 3 days - Kips Bay, Hearst Tower, Newell Antiques, Private dinner with the Kravet's, Studio Tour, ICFF and a little shopping for clients at the D&D Building.

We stayed at the W Hotel down near the World Trade Center. Look at this ceiling treatment!

The Bridget Beari team had a ball.  Thanks to everyone at Kravet again for a fabulous time. Be looking for a little surprise from the Bridget Beari team!
