Blogfest 2012 Day 3
This is my final post on my fabulous 3 days in New York for Kravet's Blogfest! The last day started with a tour of the Kravet studio. I did this last year and really enjoyed it so I made sure to do it again!
My favorite part is seeing the new collections with the celebrity designers: Barclay Butera, Kelly Wearstler, Jonathan Adler, and a new fashion designer that shall remain nameless. The process is so interesting to me because of my own line that I am creating for Bridget Beari Paper, my new wallpaper collection. Corals and Moroccan themes are really big right now.
Even new hardware designs!
I loved the KW showroom design and asked the designer for the navy color used on the wall, B. Moore HC -154 Hale Navy
Here are her new fabrics that of course in the showroom I ordered memos to be shipped back to the office. I love the wood grain pattern and the random line fabric.
The batik like print is cool and the peacock inspired pattern.
I also love the new rug collections from Jonathan Adler and Windsor Smith. The blankets and the chevron patterns are right up my alley. I can't wait to use these!
After the Kravet tour it was off to the Museum of the City of New York for lunch sponsored by New York Spaces Magazine.
The Glassy Baby votives and talk by the creator was inspiring. I really connected to the concept of giving back since Bridget Beari Colors gives back to animal rescue but a connect to animals with cancer or help people with cancer care for their animals was a AHA! moment for me! Bridget Beari Color names on Glassy Baby votive - nice!
After lunch was the talk by John Turner from Benjamin Moore on the color trends. We were hoping for a color story fan deck but no such luck.
The last group of the day was a panel discussion from Interiors Magazine with Miles Redd ( designer ) , Marisa Marcantanio ( blogger ) , Peter Aaron ( photographer ) , and editor Michael Wollaeger.
The finale was a party a the New Traditionalists!
We left NYC at 7:00 that night and drove to Northern VA. That was a bummer but at least we were half way home! Thanks to the Kravet family and everyone involved for another fabulous Blogfest in NYC. Now for the big question:
Are we going to London for Blogfest 2013?
