Bridget Beari Color Rule #43

Bridget Beari Color Rule:

It's All About the Prep

When doing any paint job, it is always about how well the surface is prepared before you start. This includes: washing, scraping, filling, sanding, and priming. For new Drywall use a water based primer and for heavily stained walls use an oil base primer. If using a darker color you can tint the primer the wall color for a base.

Prepping for a high gloss application is crucial! The gloss will show every imperfection in the wall even an eggshell finish will do this. Sanding and priming are key to a professional finish.  Fine Paints of Europe has wonderful primers that coordinate with each finish of paints.
