Bridget Beari Color Rule #50

Bridget Beari Color Rule:

Colors that Act as Neutrals

When you think of neutral colors it is usually khaki, white, grey or taupe but I like to use colors as neutrals. These are some of my favorites from my Bridget Beari Colors Collection from Fine Paints of Europe

Beasie No. 33 - a soft green

 Lewis No. 14 - a  light lavender

Bubble No. 4 - the perfect pink

Echo No. 55 - palest of pale blues

Daisy Duke No. 59 - pale and buttery

Let's talk about a pink neutral first. Here is a photo from Haute Design:

The key to using a pale pink is getting as little pigment as possible in a cream base. This allows for that beautiful blush color to emerge. It is just enough to give the walls a warm glow but neutral enough to go within any color you choose in the furniture and the rugs.

I worked for years perfecting Bubble, my signature pale pink. I love it in a living room - beautiful and fresh. Try it out! I'm sure you will love it as much as I do.

Tip: My clients always ask how to keep rugs from creeping. Even pads don't work sometimes. Well, here is a tip from Martha Stewart that I found on the  In My Crazy Life Blog and it really works! Add lines of Acrylic latex caulk to the back of your rug and Viola -
no more creep!

Happy Painting.....
