Exterior Paint Colors

Picking house colors can be tricking. It is a big surface area and the color can change due to the sunlight and shade. Here is an example of a house that use to be white with gray shutters and a red door. The house had no visual impact from the curb.
With the magic of colors we transformed this house into a standout with Benjamin Moore siding in Alexandria Beige HC-77, white trim and Topeka Taupe 1463 shutters. We tried some lighter colors but they faded away. I wanted the house to look larger and have a visual presence. This is what the darker colors can do. Don't be afraid to experiment with combinations. The key is have the tones similar but to have a contrast that makes an impact.

The front door can be your statement piece!  Here we used Comingtee DCR074 for perfect pop of color. This color also complements the interior when the door is open.

It is a warm and inviting house now. Perfect with the new landscaping.

I love picking exterior paint combinations. Even ones as crazy as the Victorian house colors that I picked for the TLC show Restorer Guy.
